Then you need to know what a Nappy Cake is and how to make one for your mum-to-be friend. As an aunt to 22 nieces, nephew and godchildren I have made quite a few Nappy Cakes in my time! I came up with this really easy method which uses an empty Cadbury’s Heroes tin, Huggies Newborn Nappies and Johnson’s baby products. I hope you find my video useful! Excellent! so many different ways to do them. I have just started researching how to do them. Can’t wait to get started. Thanks
@jayney1961 glad that you enjoyed it! Did you see the list of the other themes on my website?
Love this how to make! I was wondering if there was something I could use instead of the cotton balls though. I noticed they help hold the middle piece so I’m not sure what else could be used.
Hello, anything that holds the top tier up really AND is useful for mum. I use cotton wool because it is the cheaper option but you could also add more bottles or rolled clothing if you like. They need to be at least the 300ml size. Let me know what you use so I can recommend to others!
My friend does this but not with a tin. Thats a good idea.
Hi there! I absolutely loove this! But is there anything else I could use instead of an old sweet tin?? Your advice would me amazing. Thanks in advance x
Hello @sarahbentley2117! Here are my suggestions:
1. Plain hat boxes from Hobbycraft / Hobby Lobby / Michaels cost £5-10, about the same price as a tin of chocs!
2. Try your local garden centre for a plastic plant pot of roughly the right size and shape.
3. Make the base of the “cake” from nappies starting by tying 4 together, then 8 round that, then a final layer round that. This will make a sturdy base altho obv you won’t be able to fill it like you can with a tin.
I hope that helps!
This is a great idea lol
